Junkyard Groove integrates a building and display contest with a common unity service initiative. Each team will construct a display using only non-perishable food items, such as cans and boxes. The entry can be any creative display relating to this years NEEV 2011 theme " The Fourth Quadrant".

The displays will be judged based on the following criteria:

Originality/Creativity
Theme Relevance
Neatness/Attractiveness
Ingenuity of Structure/Structural Difficulty

Rules:

1. Area will be provided to each team at the Basketball court.

2. Each team will be informed of its location prior to the event.

3. Aluminium food cans of all sizes may be used to build the display.

4. Each structure must be built with a minimum of 125 cans. Any display with less than 125 cans will be disqualified.

5. Minimal accessory props are allowed, including boxed foods. Props and boxes should not be a dominating feature of the entry.

6. The entry must be structurally self-¬supporting.

7. Teams may consist of a maximum of 5 students, including a designated team captain. Additional team members are allowed, but no more than 5 people may work on the display at any given time.

8. Teams can and should work in shifts to accommodate additional team members.
