Mr. Tehseen Poonawalla

He is an entrepreneur involved with the hospitality and fitness industry and has also been associated with several initiatives like the Pune Marathon, Pune International Film Festival (PIFF) and the much acclaimed Pune Festival. Tehseen also serves voluntarily on the National Skill Development Corporation -- an initiative of the Min. Of Finance which hopes to bring about 30 million young Indians into the skilled sector, thereby helping the Nation in achieving 10% GDP growth.

Tehseen, who heads the membership vertical for Young Indians (Yi), the Youth Wing of the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), firmly believes that the only way India can truly be a sustainable superpower is by ensuring that high growth is partnered with social equity.

A columnist with several newspapers and magazines and a keen observer of emerging socio-political trends, Tehseen's passion is to see the youth of India play a constructive role in the task of nation building and is currently in the process of writing his first book.

Currently Tehseen shuttles between Pune and Delhi, his second home where he has been consulting several youth leaders in the field of politics, media and social entrepreneurship.Tehseen was a Consultant to the Organizing Committee of the 19th Commonwealth Games held in Delhi in 2010 where he rendered his professional services pro-bono and channelized the proceeds of his consultancy fees back into the Games.
